The accuracy engine
Built on values per 100 g, the way nutrition data actually works.
Most apps guess when you switch between β1 cupβ and a weight. We don't. Every food is stored as reference values per 100 g, and every serving is a real gram weight β so quantity and grams always resolve to the same number.
// one banana, two ways β same result
scale(banana.per100g, 118) // "1 medium"
β { kcal: 105, protein: 1.3, carbs: 26.9 }
scale(banana.per100g, 118) // 118 grams
β { kcal: 105, protein: 1.3, carbs: 26.9 }
Food database
Millions of foods. Curated staples with their own pages.
The tracker searches a database of nearly 4 million foods β branded, generic, and Indian. These are a few hand-checked favourites.
FAQ
Questions people ask
- Is Real Calorie Tracker free?
- Yes. Logging food, recipes, the meal planner, family sharing and workout tracking are free on the web and in the iPhone and Android apps. Ads on the public website pages keep it free.
- Do I need an account?
- No. You can log food straight away and your diary stays on your device. Create a free account to sync across devices, save recipes and plan meals with your family.
- How accurate are the calories?
- Every food is stored per 100 g, so logging by grams gives exact numbers. Serving sizes (1 medium banana, 1 cup of rice) are converted to grams first, so they're consistent too.
- Can my family share recipes and a meal plan?
- Yes. Join a family and you share recipes, ingredients, the weekly plan and the shopping list, while each person keeps their own calorie goal and diary.
- Does it track workouts and steps?
- Yes. Log strength and cardio workouts, follow programs, see which muscles you trained this week, and sync steps from Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Will it send me notifications?
- Only if you turn them on. Reminders for meals, water, weigh-ins and supplements are optional, and you choose how often.
